August has always been one of my favorite months! It is my birthday month, and I am one of those annoying people that whole heartedly embraces any and all birthday celebrations… Maybe even for a full “birthday week.” I also love the closing of summer- everyone rushes to cross off those fun summer bucket list items. But I also love looking forward to the Fall, and school, and just the general changing seasons.
One thing that I certainly enjoy in this summer month is ICE CREAM. I enjoy it all year round, certainly, but there is almost nothing better than enjoying some in the still warm air after dinner. So for this month’s challenge, we are making ice cream cones- with yarn!
You can find the free pattern here, complete with instructions on how to make it into a keychain. I have found these little guys are very popular at craft fairs and they are very quick to make and take very little yarn!
If you are new to the challenge, all you need to do is make it, take a picture, and post it in the Friendly Crochet Club on Facebook, or on Instagram! You have to tag me and use the hashtag #thefriendlycrochetclub so I can see it. This month one person will be chosen to win a full set of Clover Amour hooks! They are my absolute favorite (I have a full post about why here). If you are picked and already have the hooks you want, you can ask for an amazon gift card in the same amount.
I cannot wait to see all those little ice cream cones!!
