The Bobble Stitch Confetti Scarf is fun and funky, and just what I need at the the part of winter that comes after Christmas... You know when the "Dreaming of a White Christmas" ends and you are left with cold and brown slush in parking lots. When you have to put hats and coats and boots on your kids EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GO OUTSIDE. Not to mention the time it takes to find the hats and coats and boots...You know. I need color and fun and CONFETTI. That is what I imagined with this scarf and I love it! Gives me an extra pep when I have to brave putting on real pants and going out to run errands.

The finished scarf measures about 65 inches long and about 5 ½ inches tall.

    You will need:

    • size 6 mm (J hook)
    • 1 ½ skeins worsted weight size 4 yarn (I used Red Heart Soft) (about 300 yds)
    • small amount in whatever colors you choose for the bobbles
    • Pom Pom maker (I used the Clover pom pom maker for the 3 ½ inch pom)
    • Yarn needle
Bobble stitch: Yarn over (YO) insert hook and pull up one loop. 2 loops on hook. YO, insert hook and pull up one loop. 3 loops on hook. Repeat 4 more times for a total on 7 loops on hook. YO and pull through all the loops. Change to main color by pulling it through the loop on the hook. (If it is easier for you... think of it as doing HALF of a double crochet, 6 times.) Watch the video for extra help, and on how to change the bobble color.

*Chain 2 does not count as a stitch.

    Row 1: FDC 170, chain 2 and turn. (170)
    Row
2: DC in the first 9. Bobble in the next stitch, change back to main
color. *DC in the next 19. Bobble in the next stitch.* Repeat * * 6 more
times. You will have a total of 8 bobbles. Chain 2 and turn. (170)
    Row
3: DC in each stitch across. (Make sure you only DC once in each
bobble. Do not DC in the chain that remains from pulling up the main
color. Go directly to the next stitch.) (170)
    Row 4: *DC in the
next 19. Bobble in the next stitch.* Repeat * * 7 more times. Then DC in
the remaining 10 stitches. You will have a total of 8 bobbles. Chain 2
    and turn.(170)
Row 5: DC in each stitch across. (Make sure you only DC once in each bobble!)(170)
Row 6: DC in the first 9. Bobble in the next stitch, change back to
main color. *DC in the next 19. Bobble in the next stitch.* Repeat * * 6
more times. You will have a total of 8 bobbles. Chain 2 and turn. DC in the remaining 20 stitches. Chain 2 and turn.(170)
Row 7: DC in each stitch across. (Make sure you only DC once in each bobble!) (170)
Row 8: *DC in the next 19. Bobble in the next stitch.* Repeat * * 7 more
times. Then DC in the remaining 10 stitches. You will have a total of 8
bobbles. Chain 2 and turn. (170)
Row 9: DC in each stitch across. (Make sure you only DC once in each bobble!) (170)
Row 10: DC in the first 9. Bobble in the next stitch, change back to
main color. *DC in the next 19. Bobble in the next stitch.* Repeat * * 6
more times. You will have a total of 8 bobbles. DC in the remaining 20 stitches. Chain 2 and turn. (170)
Row 11: DC in each stitch across. (Make sure you only DC once in each bobble!) (170)
Turn the scarf to start the triangle end, or fasten off and weave in ends and then attach the yarn to the corner.

    Triangle Ends
    Row
1: Attach the yarn to the end (or turn from completed scarf). Chain 2.
DC in the same stitch. DC in each row end (one stitch per row) for a
total of 11 stitches (not counting the chain 2) Chain 1 and turn. (11)
    Row
2: DC Decrease (DC DEC) (insert hook in first stitch, pull up a loop.
Insert hook in next stitch pull up a loop. Finish like a regular DC) DC
in the next 7. DC DEC. Chain 1 and turn. (9)
Row 3: DC DEC. DC in the next 5. DC DEC. Chain 1 and turn. (7)
Row 4: DC DEC. DC in the next 3. DC DEC. Chain 1 and turn. (5)
Row 5:  DC DEC. DC in the next. DC DEC. Chain 1 and turn. (3)
Row 6:  DC DEC.  DC. (2)
Fasten off and sew in end.
    Repeat on the other side.

Make two large pom poms and attach to ends. I used the large Clover pom pom maker. It makes about a 3 ½ inch size pom.
