The Buddy Bear’s small size makes him a super quick make, whether you’re making a quick gift or prepping for a craft fair. Its flat body makes it super portable (remember Flat Stanley?), but the stuffed head keeps that classic teddy bear look we all love. It’s perfect for kids to bring on their daily escapades or as a comforting little friend for adults.
A good chunk of my yarn is boxed up for my upcoming move, but I still had so much fun playing around with this super simple pattern! Use different colors, yarns, or even add a little scarf or your own custom accessory to make your Buddy Bear extra special.

Notes:
This little bear is made from the bottom up. You make two feet and attach them as you go. The head is made by decreasing the body and increasing back out. You will use a neck strengthener to keep the head stable. The feet, body, and head are made in one piece. The arms, ears, and snout are attached at the end.
Substitute yarns could be Bernat Blanket yarn or Big Twist from Joann’s. You may need to change the hook size if you change the yarn.
The arms are attached with a long needle. The video for that is here.
You can use safety eyes or try out embroidered eyes so it would be safe for a baby/toddler. I have a collection of embroidery videos here.

You are so talented in designing all these patterns. Thank you so. much.
Thank you so much!
I’ve done a handful of your patterns and love them! I’m working through this one right now and have a few questions. I’ve completed one version and the face looks a little off.
Do the eyes go between 19 and 20 or 18 and 19? Asking because the patterns talks about adding eyes before round 20 is written.
Also, is the body and/or arms stuffed?
Thanks for having such easy to follow and adorable free patterns!
Thank you! I updated the pattern with the correct rounds. The body and arms are both unstuffed!
Thank you, I love your pattern ❤️
