    Yarn Scrap Pom Pom Wreath

I know I am not the only one that has made some resolutions this year, am I right?

Well, one of mine is to be better organized with my crafty stuff. Too many times during the frenzy before my craft fairs, I raced out to buy a certain kind of yarn or color of paint to realize later that I already had it. Doh!

So I went through all my stuff and organized it as best I could (we live in a small apartment and I don't have my own room totally devoted to craft supplies. Sigh. Someday, right?). Anyway, I found a TON of yarn scraps. Apparently, I hoard things. Like tiny scraps of yarn. I was in my CLEAN ALL THE THINGS mode and almost threw them away. But then I remembered that I had recently bought a Clover Large Pom Pom Maker and a  Clover Small Pom Pom Maker! They are the best things I tell you! I love pom poms. They bring a certain happiness to my life. I love pom poms on pretty much everything. (except NFL players. Is is just me or are most pom poms too feminine for 6'4" 240 lb. men?)

Anyway... this pom pom maker is a dream! I make them so fast, and its easy! And they are perfectly nice and fluffy, which all poms should be. Minimal trimming. Maximum poof.

So I made a pom pom wreath with all of my scrap yarn. "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." Anyone else hear this about a 149,089 times in their lives? Thanks, Dad. Well it stuck with me. Because for the base I used a cut out cardboard box. Thanks, amazon.

The tutorial for this is incredibly simple. I still spelled it out for you.

    1. Make a wreath base by cutting out a circle shape with enough space to glue on poms. (mine was a little less than 3 inches.) And it is super ugly, but it is okay because it will be covered up with poms!

    2. Make a LOAD of poms. Like I said, I used scraps so it was very colorful and not super matchy. It would be fun to do a red and pink one for Valentines Day. Or a green one for St. Patricks. Red, white and blue for the 4th of July. You know what I mean...

    3. Using a glue gun, glue those poms all over the place! I used a lot of glue to keep them on.

Keep gluing until you have the base all filled up. It takes quite a few pom poms!
I added a bow because I felt like it needed a little something more:)

And there you have it! A wreath that cost me very little, used up a whole pile of yarn pieces,
and adds some color to the dreary winter months.

There is an affiliate link in this post. I will only ever post products I have used and love. And it does not cost you a cent more! Just helps in the upkeep of this blog.

What a cool wreath! It's so fun and bright. And a great use of those random little bits of leftover yarn that I just can't part with . . . 😉
