Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew on the head. Pinch the bottom of the ear to make a little crease and sew a few stitches to hold the shape. I sewed them about 6 rows from the last row of the head. I attached them so that they stand mostly straight, lined up with the eyes.

Tail
Chain to 20. Slip stitch in the second chain from hook and in each chain across. Fasten off leaving a tail to sew on. I made one in each of the rainbow colors. Sew on the bottom. I attached it with a needle and then tied underneath the piece.

Mane
Chain to 30. Slip stitch in the second chain from hook and in each chain across. Do not fasten off, but chain 25 and repeat the slip stitch process. Then chain 20 and slip stitch back and then 15 and slip stitch back for a total of 4 strips of mane. Fasten off and repeat with each color. Pin them on the head so that the shorter part is in the front by the horn and have it run vertically down the head. Sew them on.
