How To Corner to Corner Crochet: Video Tutorial and Pictures

Corner to corner crochet is one of my favorite crochet methods. It works up quickly without using too much yarn, it can be adapted for so many things, and it is great for graphgans! I used this method for my c2c Fox Square Blanket. It isn’t too difficult to learn, but I still broke it down into a video tutorial and picture step by steps.

How to Crochet Corner to Corner

You will begin your corner to corner projects by chaining 6.

4 chains from the hook, work a double crochet.

Double crochet in the remaining two chains. This is a total of 3 DC, plus the loop from the chains.
This is a finished block. You will repeat these steps every time you are starting a new row.

Chain 6 times.

Repeat the steps to make another block.

Twist the block and attach with a slip stitch to the loop made by the chains before you double crocheted.

Chain twice. Crocheting around the loop made by the chains, double crochet 3 times.

Again, you will chain 6 times. You are adding a new block on top of another one.

You will twist and attach with a slip stitch to the loop made by the chains before you double crocheted.

You will chain 2, then double crochet three times in the loop. By now you have repeated the process you need to make any size c2c blanket or project.
How to Decrease on C2C Crochet

On the last block of the row, slip stitch into the three chains on the block below.

From this point, we are not going to increase anymore. We are going to “close the row.”

Chain three.

Slip stitch to the top of the block.

You will chain 2, then double crochet three times in the loop, just the same as you normally would. Continue the corner to corner crochet pattern until you read the end!

P.S. My mind is just boggled by your crocheting technique of using your left hand to wrap the yarn around every time, instead of wrapping the hook around the yarn. Have you ever tried to do the wrapping with the hook? You are already holding the yarn taut, so I think it would save you so much time to use the hook to wrap the yarn, instead of your left hand! 😉 (ABSOLUTELY NOT criticizing)
